Winter Camping

This last weekend we went winter camping. This gave us a great excuse to try out our 4 season tent. Needless to say it was still really cold. Each time we test our gear we learn how to improve our comfort in less than ideal conditions. With overnight temps in the 15 degree range this was no normal car camping expedition.

We chose to find a nice little lake that we could drive up to in a state park by Pelican Rapids, MN. We had most of the bases covered with food/drink, firewood some music provided by my iPhone and amplified by a coffee cup. Overall the trip was an adventure. The last time we went camping roughly this time of year the low hit 1 degree. I can’t really tell the difference between 1 degree or 15 degrees both are still really cold. I will be adding new winter footwear to my wish-list for the next trip :)

Skydiving with a GoPro

I’ve had the chance to go skydiving a couple of times. The last time I went the drop zone gave me a copy of the jump on VHS (sewing the parachute included :) ) . Now the GoPro has taken the industry by storm and offers amazing videos for just these occasions. I can wait until the next time I get to jump to strap on a GoPro and check out the video. Perhaps I’ll post here when I do.

Aston Martin Vantage

This is one slick looking car. I am on a business trip to San Diego and get to look at some awesome cars and beautiful weather compared to what I am used to. I don’t see a whole lot of these cars in Fargo I guess they are impractical for 5 months of winter driving ;) .

You can pick up a Vantage for about $150k. IMO I still think the R8 looks way cooler.
