This last weekend we went winter camping. This gave us a great excuse to try out our 4 season tent. Needless to say it was still really cold. Each time we test our gear we learn how to improve our comfort in less than ideal conditions. With overnight temps in the 15 degree range this was no normal car camping expedition.
We chose to find a nice little lake that we could drive up to in a state park by Pelican Rapids, MN. We had most of the bases covered with food/drink, firewood some music provided by my iPhone and amplified by a coffee cup. Overall the trip was an adventure. The last time we went camping roughly this time of year the low hit 1 degree. I can’t really tell the difference between 1 degree or 15 degrees both are still really cold. I will be adding new winter footwear to my wish-list for the next trip
